Forged Chain Links with Pusher Lugs for Slag Removers
The die-forged chain link with pusher lug is a core chain part of drag chain conveyors and of boiler frame-chain slag removers. The usual English names in foreign trade are Forged chain link with pusher lug or P200-SR scraper chain link. The link is die-forged from 40Cr alloy steel and then quenched and tempered, so it is fairly strong and fairly wear resistant.
Structure and material
The structure has two points: (1) one end carries a double-lug pin hole and the other end a single-lug pin hole; (2) a one-piece pusher lug is welded at the middle, and the links are joined into a chain by pins. After die forging, quenching and tempering, 40Cr alloy steel is used to take traction and wear. Die forging keeps the grain flow continuous along the shape of the link, and quenching and tempering balance strength against toughness, which suits traction parts that take repeated impact. In service on a slag remover, pin wear, link elongation and pusher lug deformation need regular checking, and links beyond the limit need prompt replacement.
