Guide wheels are one of the matching parts of the chain assembly on a chain grate. We supply replacements matched to the customer’s grate model, and we can help with selection and with matching the parts.
Its place in the chain assembly
On a chain grate the chain is made into a loop from grate plates, pins and links, rollers and similar parts, and the guide wheels help support the chain and keep it on its path. A replacement has to match the dimensions of the existing links and pins, so we check the fit against the grate model or drawing you provide.
Materials and heat resistance
Guide wheels can be supplied in ductile iron, or as heat-resistant alloy castings where the position calls for them; the grade follows the temperature at that position.
| Available material | Typical position |
|---|---|
| Ductile iron | Rotating parts such as rollers and chain wheels |
| Cr26Ni12 | Medium-temperature positions |
| Cr25Ni20 (310S) | High-temperature zones up to 1100°C |
Guide parts in different positions on the same grate do not run at the same temperature: positions near the hot zone take the higher grade in the table, while ductile iron is enough at the cooler tail end.
What we need for a quotation
Please send the grate model, a drawing, or the dimensions of the old part. We confirm material and quantity from that and arrange shipment from the partner factory. All parts are supplied to the NB/T 47050-2016 technical standard, and dimensions can be customised to customer requirements.
