The front wheel (16 teeth) is a sprocket part at the front end of a chain grate; it meshes with the chain and drives the grate surface. We supply front wheels in the 16-tooth version from our partner factory.
Its position in the drive
On a chain grate the drive sprocket and the tail sprocket drive the chain, and the grate bars run as a chain belt linked by pins and chain links. The front wheel sits at the front end of the chain, and its tooth count matches the chain; 16 teeth is one of the available specifications, and the grate model, drawing and tooth count are the basis for checking an order.
Material for sprocket-type parts
Sprocket-type parts can be made of ductile iron. Parts in hotter positions can use Cr25Ni20 (310S) (for high-temperature zones up to 1100°C), Cr26Ni12 (medium-temperature applications) or Cr20Ni14 (the economical option for moderate-temperature zones). The material range at our partner factory also covers HT200, HT250, RTSi5, RQTSi5, RTCr16, RTCr, RTCr2, RTCr5 and RTCr2Si4Mo, and the products meet the NB/T 47050-2016 technical standard.
Matching parts and replacement
The same series includes grate bars, side seals, rollers, pins and chain links, as well as the chain grate front bearing and the tail sprocket. When replacing the front wheel, check the wear condition of the chain, pins and chain links at the same time so that everything can be supplied in one go.
