Reciprocating grate side seals are fitted on both sides of a stepped grate to reduce air bypassing along the side walls, and we supply side seals for reciprocating grates from a partner factory.
Working position and conditions
A reciprocating (stepped) grate stoker alternates moving grate bars with fixed grate bars, and the fuel is pushed forward by the sliding motion. The side seals sit on both sides of the grate surface, next to the sliding contact and thermal cycling conditions, and their job is to block bypass airflow.
Material selection
The heat-resistant alloy for reciprocating grate parts is Cr25Ni20 (310S), and Cr26Ni12 can be used in areas with lower temperature requirements; wear plates use Stellite alloy or equivalent hardfacing. The material range at a partner factory also covers HT200, HT250, RTSi5, RQTSi5, RTCr16, RTCr, RTCr2, RTCr5 and RTCr2Si4Mo. The products meet the NB/T 47050-2016 technical standard, and RTCr2 is rated for use in reciprocating grates.
Machining and matching parts
The parts are precision cast and machined to ensure a proper fit, and after heat treatment they undergo dimensional inspection before dispatch. We also supply moving grate bars, fixed grate bars, wear plates, guide rails and hydraulic components, and the side seals can be supplied as a set with these parts. Please provide the grate model or drawing so that we can check the section and quantity.
