Chain grate

(I) Common faults and troubleshooting

Broken grate bars or detached pins cause the grate bars to squeeze against and jam each other. For example, after long-term use, the grate bars are subject to high temperature and mechanical stress and can easily develop fractures.

Loose or broken chain

Regularly check the tension of the chain and adjust the tensioning device so that the chain maintains a proper degree of tightness. If the chain is already broken, replace it with a new one and make sure it is installed correctly, with good engagement between the chain and the sprocket.

Regular inspection

Lubrication and upkeep

The chain, sprockets and bearings of the grate need to be lubricated regularly. Choose an appropriate lubricant, such as high-temperature grease, according to the requirements of the equipment.

The lubrication interval is generally once a week, but under high-temperature, high-load operation the frequency can be appropriately increased. When lubricating, make sure the lubricant is applied evenly to the parts that need lubrication, and avoid letting excess lubricant flow into the furnace chamber.

Cleaning work

After each shutdown, promptly clean the ash and slag and unburned fuel from the grate. Specialized tools such as scrapers and brooms can be used to clean the ash and slag out from between the grate bars.

Regularly clean the air chamber of the grate to prevent dust and debris from clogging the air openings and affecting the ventilation effect.
