The return link of a heavy slag remover sits at the return end of the chain, works with the return wheel to turn and tension the chain, and is the end that keeps the whole slag-removal chain on its path. We supply the return link for this model, machined to drawing at the partner factory and shipped from there.
Turning and tensioning at the return end
A slag remover chain is pulled at the drive end, changes direction and keeps its tension at the return end, and the hole positions and pitch of the return link determine how well it sits on the return wheel. Once the link wears or its holes elongate, the chain tends to run off its line or jump teeth, so it needs replacing in time.
How it matches the rest of the chain
The return link belongs to the same transmission set as the drive link, the slag remover chain link and the ring chain hook, and the links at both ends are usually checked and replaced as a pair. Please send the equipment model, and the link drawing or the measured dimensions of the old part; we confirm pitch, hole positions and connection method from that and give you a matching plan.
